CAF/CFARS: Exercise Noble Skywave 2015

by | 2015-10-20

For the past couple of years, the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics has hosted an international HF communications exercise that includes the “Five Eyes” nations of Canada, the US, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. One of the best parts about being a member of CFARS is that I get to participate.

At 4AM EDT tomorrow morning (October 21, 2015), or 0800z 21 Oct 2015, Exercise Noble Skywave 2015 will commence with HF stations from around the world attempting to check-in with Net Control located at CFB Kingston. It has been setup as a contest, with the winner being announced by Net Control at the end of the exercise, which will be at 6PM EDT on October 22 (2200z 22 Oct 2015).

If you would like to hear the proceedings, feel free to click on the Live Audio from my Flex 5000A link in the menu bar above, and click Play. I plan to operate most of the exercise, taking naps as I can get them.
